The first of the Barcelona imports, the 22-year-old signed a four-year contract with the club on a free transfer.

He made his debut in English football in a League Cup victory over Walsall on August 31 2013. Following that performance he made his Premier League debut on November 2013 against Everton at Goodison Park.

In Muniesa’s first season he was mainly used as cover for Erik Pieters at left-back, but after Marc Wilson’s injury he started to play at centre-back alongside Ryan Shawcross and looks the player we all hoped he would be.

He has scored two goals for the Potters and they came in the same game, a 2-1 victory over Sunderland in the League Cup on September 23 2014.

On August 7th 2015, Muniesa signed a new four year deal with Stoke. Perhaps he’s enjoying all his old mates coming to visit?
