Oliver Shenton was born in Blythe Bridge and is a local academy player, in his eleventh season at the club. At only 17 years old he made his Potters debut in the League Cup Second Round match against Portsmouth and his Premier League debut against Manchester City in February, tragically just two days after the passing of his mother. At the end of the match, England legend Frank Lampard was seen offering to swap shirts, Lampard losing his mother in 2008.

On November 25th Shenton signed a professional contract with the club and is highly regarded by Hughes and his coaching staff.

He was part of the warm weather training squad in Dubai suggesting we will see more of Shenton and he was involved frequently in and around the matchday squad over the end of the 2014/15 season.
