Peter Odemwingie joined Stoke in a swap deal, which saw Kenwyne Jones join Cardiff City.

He made his debut on January 29 2014 in a defeat to Sunderland. The Nigeria international scored his first Potters goal against Southampton in a 2-2.

In the 15 appearances he made for the Potters at the end of the 2013/14 season he scored five goals making a positive impression with the Stoke faithful.

He appeared for Nigeria in the World Cup. When he returned to Stoke he started the season but picked up a season ending injury in Stoke’s 1-0 win at Manchester City.

On his return from injury, Odemwingie received a warm reception from supporters and on July 2nd 2015, signed a new one year deal with the club.
